Math Rock Infographic
An extensive study of the musical genre known as Math Rock served as the inspiration for this infographic. Six sources were used in the study, and thumbnails were created and presented to assist its final product. The body copy used to be the primary focus of the thumbnails until it was changed so that the pictures now convey the intended information to the reader. The slides were then rendered in response to input and presented to a group of peers for review.
The theme of inclusivity and inventiveness with a vibrant color accent served as the inspiration for the color decision. In contrast to the dynamic aesthetic of the yellow hue, which further references the energetic genre of Math Rock and encourages welcomeness to prevent panic, the purple color promotes tranquility, indicating the relaxed attitude to the presentation. The positioning and use of the cited illustrations serve to emphasize this. The following images in this scenario might be seen as being either energizing or ethereal due to Math Rock's versatility as a genre.
Other peers referenced that the text was too small and that there was a lot of body copy taking away attention from the illustration, the feedback was cited for reference. With this critique taken into consideration, the infographic was finalized based on their recommendation.

Regarding methods, resources, history, and the applicability to each text on each slide, there were at least six sources. The infographic also employs the use of opposing typefaces, Bernhard and Parisine, to demonstrate different weights and assign each topic a hierarchy.
On the second page, additional icons were added, including a history book, a music note, a speaker, and a guitar. The second page's symbols are connected by lines to indicate relevance and is split by two different blocks of color—purple and black—in the same way as the previous page's musical notes added texture. Giving the two portions of this page a feeling of identity, the colors purple and black stand for the concept of Math Rock and its history, respectively. A brief passage of text is then included with those visuals to provide the reader even more understanding. The particular body content was backed up by in-depth references to the study that was supplied before the project's creation.
This infographic was created with slides and a 1080x1080 layout to fit inside an Instagram post. It communicates information through pertinent examples that put the illustration at the forefront. Several approaches are illustrated, such as the finger picking of a guitar with hands in negative space or the strumming of a guitar with a pick surrounded by motion lines. These works of art are strengthened by icons that serve as charts for readers to consult, illustrating the various skills with a hand on a guitar neck indicating tapping, slides, and chord progression. They are all crucial to the genre.
